CHALLENGING NETBALL FANS TO OUTDO THEIR ROLE MODELS BY CAPTURING AND SHARING THEIR BEST MOVES

Women in sport don’t get the recognition they deserve. This project is close to my heart because it gave me the opportunity to help change that narrative, working alongside the best director for the job, Cate Stewart. To promote the Samsung Galaxy A-Series and its standout camera features, our strategy was to leverage Samsung’s partnership with Netball Australia and tap into its young audience. We launched The #GalaxyAGame Challenge, where some of the sport’s top players used the phone to capture and share their best netball moves, challenging their followers—and Netball Australia’s fans—to show off their own skills and try to outdo the pros.

Cutdowns of our film, along with user-generated content from our netball pros, were used as to promote the challenge on social.

To integrate the challenge into Channel Nine’s broadcast, clips of National Netball League teams showcasing their best moves were featured, and the audience voted for their favourite on social.

At Super Netball games, fans could join the interactive #GalaxyAGame challenge, using the Samsung Galaxy A-series phone to capture their netball skills as they tried to shoot, lob, and pass as many balls as possible in a minute for a chance to win the phone.
